Deity HD-TX Plug-On Transmitter with Built-In Recorder
The Deity HD-TX is a plug-on transmitter for XLR microphones that sends 2.4 GHz digital wireless while its built-in recorder keeps a 24-bit, 48 kHz backup on a microSD card.
It is light enough for a boom pole. With a shotgun microphone, its recorder and headphone jack make a complete recording setup with no other sound gear.
The XLR input supplies +48 V phantom power, and a locking 3.5mm input with 3 V plug-in power takes a lavalier. With the included belt clip case, the HD-TX can then work as a bodypack transmitter. RF output switches between 10, 25, 50, and 100 mW to balance range against battery life.
The recorder takes microSD cards of up to 128 GB (SanDisk cards are not compatible) and splits long takes into 2 GB files. Four safeguards protect the recording. The battery is built in, so it cannot fall out through an open battery door. When the unit is told to power down, it stops and saves the file, and the battery meter gives that command before the battery runs out. A lock screen keeps the buttons from being pressed by accident.
Files can be played back, renamed, and deleted on the unit, and they take their names from the HD-TX’s user ID, which keeps several units’ files apart in post. The microSD card can also be formatted from the menu, and files transfer to a computer over USB-C.
