Bubblebee Industries The Lav Concealer

The Bubblebee Industries Lav Concealer 6-Pack gives a sound team six concealers for one microphone model, three in black and three in white, each with its own clip, fabric guard, and tape.

These are the same Lav Concealers sold singly, packed for productions with several actors on the same lavs or for backup stock, at a lower cost per concealer than six singles.

Molded from soft natural rubber, the concealer works as a small shock mount. It absorbs the vibration and handling noise that a hard plastic clip passes into the capsule, and its wire fabric guard holds clothing away from the microphone head, which cuts down on rustle. The low profile lets the mic sit inside a collar, behind a tie, or under a shirt or blouse without a visible bump.

Each concealer is molded for one microphone model, so pick the version made for your lav. The tiny concealers fit the DPA 6060, Sennheiser MKE 1, Countryman B6, and Deity W.Lav Micro. They add a cable lock clip and come with a low and a high fabric guard: the low guard suits tight spots, and the high guard keeps fabric further from the capsule. The matte black and white finishes avoid reflections: black for dark clothing, white for light.

Mount the concealer with its wire clothing clip, with Bubblebee’s double-sided Lav Concealer Tape on clothing or skin, or sew it into a costume through the holes in its four corners. The included tape is single-use, and refills come in boxes of 120 pieces: Lav Concealer Tape for the regular concealers and Lav Concealer Tiny Tape for the tiny ones.
