Zoom R12 MultiTrak – A Powerful, Portable Music Studio

The Zoom R12 MultiTrak is a powerful all-in-one tool for musicians who want the freedom to record music on the fly, in any location and scenario, with a simple setup and well-rounded feature set.

ALL ON-BOARD

The R12 has a compact form factor that’s perfect for portable recording. Its on-board features allow for recording, editing, and mixing your music, all without using a computer. The R12’s full-color touchscreen (LCD) lets you easily perform cuts, copies, loops, and easy edits for your music tracks, because it’s not always convenient to bring your laptop with you.

PORTABLE POWER

Have your recording studio anywhere, anytime. The ultra-portable Zoom R12 MultiTrak operates for ~5 hours of continuous use with four standard AA batteries, and with high-quality lithium batteries, you can record up to 11 hours. The R12 also allows for powering via the optional Zoom AD-17 USB AC power adapter, or a USB battery pack (both sold separately).

ZOOM R12 MultiTrak COMES FULLY LOADED

The R12 has a Send Effects channel that offers reverb, delay, and chorus, along with a dedicated effects return fader. And the R12’s compatible with Zoom Guitar Lab, for more advanced presets and effects. The R12 includes pan and 3-channel EQ for each track, as well as compressor on inputs #1 and #2. 18 built-in FM synth instruments can be played with a plugged-in MIDI keyboard via USB-C, or programmed using the R12’s on-board color LCD touchscreen. Input 1 on the R12 has a Hi-Z switch, allowing you to plug your guitar directly into the recorder.

SOUNDS GOOD

The R12 has great sounding, super-clean preamps. With dual XLR/TRS inputs & 8 audio tracks, the Zoom R12 MultiTrak is an ideal solution for recording anything from demos to release-ready songs. 1/8-inch stereo headphone jack & dedicated 1/4-inch monitor outputs.

PERFECT PLAYBACK WITH THE ZOOM R12 MultiTrak

Utilize the R12’s Sequence Play feature to craft playlists of your projects, and then use them for backing tracks, whether you’re rehearsing or playing a live set. The R12 also comes preloaded with 150 different drum loops of various genres and patterns. Keep the rhythm without breaking a sweat. Also includes a completely customizable click track, activated with a simple button-press. Use the click balance section to blend the metronome with your playback audio and route to your headphones and/or the main outputs. The R12 has 18 FM synth instruments built in that can be played by plugging in a MIDI keyboard via USB-C or programmed using the touchscreen.

IMPORT YOUR OWN AUDIO

Import audio files via the R12’s onboard Micro SD slot, or with a thumb drive via the USB port. Plug in your iOS devices and take advantage of the optional R12 Control App (available in late 2022). You can also make use of the R12 as a stereo audio interface with the DAW of your choice, or a streaming platform, via USB-C. As a control surface, the transport controls and faders make it easy to adjust and control your software during production.
