Zoom LiveTrak L6max
The Zoom LiveTrak L6max mixes 12 channels and records up to 12 individual tracks plus a stereo mix to a microSD card in 32-bit float, on battery power when there is no outlet.
Its inputs are four XLR/TRS combo jacks, two of them with Hi-Z for instruments, and eight line inputs. A -20 dB pad on channels 5 to 8 handles loud sources such as synths and Eurorack modules. Channels 1 to 4 use dual AD converters. Each channel has a 3-band EQ with a variable mid. Reverb, delay, and echo effects, a master compressor, and AI Noise Reduction against hum, hiss, and background noise are built in.
Two headphone outputs and a customizable Sub-Out mix handle monitoring, and two AUX sends with pre- or post-fader options feed effects loops and monitors. Projects save to the card for mixing later. A dedicated bounce track, with undo, frees channels for more overdubs. Sound pads trigger samples and can follow MIDI clock. MIDI I/O and USB MIDI connect synths and apps, and four scene memories recall mixes. A high-contrast OLED display shows the settings.
Over USB, the L6max works as a 14-in/4-out 32-bit float audio interface for a computer, iOS, or Android device while it records to the card, and as a control surface for a DAW. The free L6 Editor app for Mac and Windows sets up the pads, effects, and MIDI assignments. The L6max runs on four AA batteries, USB bus power, or a mobile battery pack, and the optional ERL-6 adapter mounts it in a Eurorack case.
