Zaxcom Oasis Mixing Panel
The Zaxcom Oasis mixing panel gives a Zaxcom recorder up to 40 assignable fader channels from eight motorized, touch-sensitive faders on three active banks.
One serial control cable links it to a Nova 2, Nova, Nomad 12, Nomad 10, or Deva 24, while all processing and recording stay in the recorder. Unplug that cable and the recorder goes from the cart to a bag.
Controls
Hardware trims, transport controls, dedicated PFL keys, and routing keys sit on the panel. It controls the gain of Zaxcom Digital Recording Wireless transmitters directly over ZaxNet, and it works as a playback controller while recording.
Hub and Software
The Oasis connects directly to an RX-12 receiver or a USB keyboard. Its graphical interface runs on a Windows or Mac computer or a touch screen and adds metadata editing, larger meters, matrix and cross-point routing, and a visual timecode slate.
With a Nomad, MP3 files go out from the interface by e-mail or FTP over Wi-Fi.
Power
The panel draws 2.4 W (200 mA at 12 V) through a 4-pin XLR connector. Many computers that run the interface need 16 to 19 V, more than a 12 V cart supplies, so on a 12 V cart the computer needs a power inverter.
