Zaxcom DCiRX Digital UHF Receiver
Zaxcom DCiRX — Single-channel digital UHF wireless receiver with integrated 4-track recorder, microphone preamp, and USB-C audio interface, powered by AA batteries. The DCiRX uses a narrow-band direct conversion architecture. A hardware filter is applied per channel before the A-to-D converter, so only the intended receive frequency reaches the converter. This eliminates the vulnerability to off-channel interference present in wideband IF-sampling designs, where a single strong signal can degrade an entire block of frequencies simultaneously. A tunable tracking front-end filter, adjustable in 1 MHz steps, provides additional selectivity in congested RF environments.
The DCiRX receives from any current Zaxcom transmitter in mono, stereo, XR, or ZHD96 modes, while simultaneously accepting a direct microphone input via 3-pin LEMO (5V unbalanced or 48V balanced phantom/dynamic). Both sources record simultaneously to microSD as a 4-track session — two receive ISOs, a mic input track, and a mix track — in 32-bit float or 24-bit fixed broadcast WAV with embedded SMPTE timecode.
The USB-C port on the DCiRX functions as a 4-channel audio interface (144 dB dynamic range) compatible with laptops, mobile devices, and USB cameras including Blackmagic ProDock. Balanced analog output via TA-5 is adjustable from mic level to +12 dBu line level. The unit additionally operates as a UHF IFB receiver and supports encrypted audio transmission.
Power is supplied by three AA batteries (up to 7 hours on Li-Ion) or via USB-C. Weight is 0.3 lbs (0.14 kg) without batteries. I/O includes a graphic OLED display, locking 3.5mm headphone output, and locking 3.5mm SMPTE timecode output.
