URSA Heat Shields

Slipped between a transmitter and the skin, URSA Heat Shields cut the heat reaching the body by up to 40%, which keeps the cast comfortable and the cameras rolling.

Transmitters can run warm, especially on high power, and that heat becomes uncomfortable for actors over a long day. A shield slides inside URSA pouches and straps, between the pack and the skin or costume, as a quick fix on set.

The shields are cut from a premium heat-resistant foam with a closed-cell structure that insulates well. They are soft, stretchy, and only 4 mm thick, and they stand up to repeated use. Each pack holds 2 small shields, 55 × 36 mm, and 2 large shields, 68 × 50 mm.
