Sound Devices MixPre-10 II Multitrack Recorder and USB Audio Interface
The Sound Devices MixPre-10 II is a 12-track, 32-bit float recorder and USB audio interface with eight Kashmir mic preamps, sized for a bag, a tripod, or a desk.
It records 10 inputs at up to 192 kHz to an SD card, mixes them on its built-in 10 × 4 mixer, and backs up to a USB thumb drive.
Recording
The eight Kashmir preamps have adjustable limiters, and the converters reach 142 dB of dynamic range. Choose 16-bit, 24-bit, or 32-bit float at sample rates from 44.1 to 192 kHz, with 10 seconds of pre-roll at 48 kHz. Basic mode keeps setup simple, and Advanced mode opens every setting.
USB Audio Interface
Over USB-C, the MixPre-10 II streams 12 inputs and 4 outputs to a computer at up to 32-bit float while it records and mixes.
Timecode and Sync
An internal timecode generator outputs LTC, and timecode comes in on BNC, Aux In, or HDMI. HDMI can also start and stop recording from a camera that sends a record flag.
Power and Control
It runs on eight AA batteries in the included MX-8AA sled, on Sony L-mount batteries with an optional sled, or on the included XL-WPH3 power supply. The Wingman app controls it over Bluetooth, and USB-A accepts control surfaces, keyboards, and thumb drives.
Plugins
Optional plugins add NoiseAssist noise suppression, MixAssist automixing, the Musician mode for songwriting, and Ambisonics recording.
