Sound Devices +2 Plugin for MixPre-3

The Sound Devices +2 Plugin adds two channels and record tracks to a MixPre-3 or MixPre-3 II, turning it from a 3-channel, 5-track recorder into a 5-channel, 7-track recorder.

The added channels 4 and 5 take the Aux 1, Aux 2, USB 1, or USB 2 inputs. Each one records to its own isolated (ISO) track and also mixes with channels 1 to 3 into the main mix, so the Aux and USB sources get full channels of their own.

Controls and Processing

Both added channels have solo, mute, arm, gain, fader, pan, and low-cut controls. With the MixAssist or NoiseAssist plugin installed, they can use that processing too. Their ISO tracks also work with the Remix feature. The Wingman app and supported third-party USB controllers both work with the added channels.

Good to Know

The recorder must run firmware 9.00 or later. Channels 4 and 5 are not available while the Musician or Reporter plugin is in use. Each license is made for one recorder’s serial number, so include your MixPre’s serial number with your order.
