RODE VideoMic Directional On-Camera Microphone
The RODE VideoMic is a directional on-camera shotgun microphone with a studio-grade condenser capsule and a supercardioid polar pattern.
An integrated Rycote Lyre shock mount isolates the mic from external vibrations, and a high-density windshield is there for recording in windy environments. The shock mount fits directly onto a DSLR, mirrorless, or video camera and has a 3/8″-16 thread.
A selectable high-pass filter at 80 Hz rolls off the low end, and the two-stage level control adds −10 dB or −20 dB of attenuation for loud sound sources. The attached 3.5mm TRS cable gives a dual-mono output, so you have no channel to select on the recording device. The mic works with the RODE VXLR Pro, SC4, Boompole Pro, and DeadCat.
