Remote Audio LiFe Box Battery System
The Remote Audio LiFe Box packs a lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery and a digital meter into a rugged, compact Pelican 1150 case, and one model adds a charger.
It is a 12 V DC source that runs gear on its own or extends a Meon LiFe or Meon LiFe Smart cart system when plugged into the Meon’s battery expansion port. LiFePO4 is far lighter than the lead acid batteries that once filled Pelican cases, and it is thermally and chemically stable.
Choosing a Model
The 30 holds the most, at 30 Ah, and the 20 is the lightest, at 20 Ah. Both have a 4-pin XLR outlet and a high-current SpeakON outlet. The LiFe Box 20C has 20 Ah, a 4-pin outlet, and a built-in charger with an AC mains connector.
Metering and Protection
The backlit meter shows voltage, current, power, and the energy used, and it flashes an alarm when the voltage goes too high or too low. The battery is protected inside against over-charge, over-discharge, and short circuits. An external automotive blade fuse, with a red LED that lights when it blows, guards the output. The 20 and 30 charge from a two-stage lead acid charger or from a Meon LiFe’s DC input port.
