Remote Audio BDS v4UH Battery Distribution System
Built for ENG audio bags, the Remote Audio BDS v4UH powers up to six devices from one battery and switches them all on and off with a single toggle.
The H is for Hirose: its outlets are 4-pin Hirose connectors in place of the concentric connectors on the standard BDS. These connectors push on and pull off quickly and lock in place, which has made them a standard for compact, low-current power connections. They cost more, but they are much easier to manage in tight spaces.
Power comes in through a TA4M input that takes 6 to 20 V, typically from an NP-1 style battery. Each outlet supplies up to 3 A, with 5 A (60 W) in total. Auto-resetting protection guards against short circuits, overloads, and reversed polarity. The illuminated toggle glows green when the power is on and turns red when the battery drops below its low-voltage threshold, which is set for lithium-ion, NiMH, or lead acid cells.
A USB outlet charges a phone or tablet, a remote port takes the Remote Audio RM meter and RS switch, and a stainless steel clip holds the box to a bag or strap. Remote Audio’s newer distribution box is the BDSv5 SMART.
