Phonak Roger BaseStation

Phonak Roger BaseStation — The stationary transmitter for the Roger Earpiece System. Accepts balanced audio from any standard source (XLR or 6.3mm) and broadcasts over Phonak’s license-free 2.4 GHz digital protocol to an unlimited number of Roger Earpieces simultaneously. It is the preferred transmitter option for fixed or semi-permanent installations where a rack-mounted, always-on solution is more practical than a portable transmitter.

On a film or television set, the BaseStation typically lives on the sound cart or in a rack, fed directly from an IFB send, mix bus, or program feed. Unlike the Roger On 2, which bridges a beltpack to the Roger Earpiece in a mobile configuration, the BaseStation is the right choice when the transmitter position is fixed and the audio source is hardwired. It supports up to five Roger Touchscreen Mics simultaneously on a single network, and coverage can be extended to any distance using Roger Repeaters. Up to 15 BaseStations can operate in the same space without interference, making it viable for large multi-stage productions or broadcast facilities with multiple simultaneous feeds. For live production and broadcast, the BaseStation’s graphical audio input display and precise volume control (adjustable from -14 to +12 dB) allow for confident level management without additional metering.

Rack and wall mount hardware are included. The BaseStation ships with both EU and US plug adapters. For productions requiring coverage beyond the standard 15 to 40 meter transmission range, the BaseStation pairs directly with the Roger Repeater, which connects via the same plug-and-play network protocol.
