Lectrosonics IFBT4 Synthesized UHF IFB Transmitter
Built for broadcast, film, theater, and stage, the Lectrosonics IFBT4 is a synthesized UHF IFB transmitter that feeds cues and program audio to belt-pack receivers at 250 mW.
IFB stands for interruptible foldback, the system that sends talent and crew their cues. DIP switches on the rear panel set the input for RTS or Clear-Com intercom lines, a dynamic mic, or studio line level, so the transmitter can stand alone or patch straight into an intercom system.
Frequency Blocks
Trew Audio carries the IFBT4 in the seven Lectrosonics frequency blocks in the table below, and each version tunes its block in 100 kHz steps.
Digital Hybrid Wireless
Digital Hybrid Wireless encodes the audio digitally and sends it over an analog FM link, which gives the range of FM without a compandor and its artifacts. A supersonic pilot tone keeps the receiver muted when the transmitter is off. The transmitter works in Nu Hybrid mode, with IFB and Mode 3 compatibility modes.
Build and Power
Microprocessor control keeps turn-on and turn-off free of pops. The output mutes in Tune mode, so scrolling to a new frequency never interferes with other wireless channels. The backlit LCD reads in dim light and in direct sun. The machined aluminum housing runs on 6 to 18 VDC through a locking connector, and the whip antenna locks onto a 50 ohm BNC jack.
