K-Tek KP14V Mighty Boom Carbon Boom Pole (Uncabled)
The K-Tek KP14V Mighty Boom is a five-section carbon pole that collapses to 45.6 in and reaches 14 ft.
It weighs 1.79 lb (0.81 kg) and comes uncabled. The top is a standard 3/8-16 male thread, and the rubber bumper at the base comes off.
Removable Headpiece
Remove one set screw and the headpiece threads off the tube, so a cable goes in or comes out without soldering. The pole can run uncabled, with a coiled cable, or with a transmitter at the base. Add the KPCK14V coiled cable kit and a bottom module (the KPCCR side-exit XLR, the KPTA Sidekick, or the KPFT flow-through base) to cable it in the field.
The captive collets have a thick, smooth surface for gradual extension, and oval dimples give the collars a firm grip. The tubes are hand burnished against handling noise, and the pole is made in the USA.
