Cinela Suspension Modules

Cinela suspension modules hold a microphone inside an E-OSIX shock mount or a PIANISSIMO windshield, each one made for a particular microphone or pair.

Cinela developed the E-OSIX alongside the PIANISSIMO, with new module sizes that move between the E-OSIX, the PIANISSIMO, and the PIANO. A module is the cradle and its isolators. It sits in the mount or windshield and is held by a knob, so a different microphone takes a different module rather than a different windshield.

Elliptical and Crossed Isolators

Most modules use the E-OSIX’s elliptical isolators, glued to cradles 7, 8, and 9 or to the cradles made for the MiniCMIT and DPA 4017C. The MiniCMIT and DPA 4017C cradles hold the microphone with a clip at the front. Modules on the OSIX cradles 5 and 6 use crossed isolators instead. They suit microphones such as the Schoeps CMC 6 and Sennheiser MKH 8060, whose sensitivity to vibration rises at some midrange frequencies on elliptical isolators.

Several modules come in two versions: Soft for gentle indoor work, and Hard to hold the microphone against the heavier swings of booming outdoors.

Stereo Modules

For MS and double MS setups in the PIANISSIMO, Cinela makes modules that carry two or three microphones. There is an MS module with elliptical isolators and a clip, and one for a MiniCMIT with a CCM 8. Another MS module holds two CMC in a double cradle. A double MS module takes a CMC 6 with two CMC 1, and another takes an MKH 30 with an MKH 8050 and a Binder connection.

For XY, two MKH 8040 sit in single modules on a body with a 5-pin male XLR output.
