Ambient QuickPole Series 5 Boom Pole
Made in six lengths, the Ambient QuickPole Series 5 is a five-section carbon fiber boom pole that extends as far as 6.37 m (20 ft 11 in).
The shortest, the QP 550, extends to 1.85 m (6 ft 1 in), and the longest is the QP 5150. Ambient builds the tubes from their own carbon fiber compound with an added layer of ultra-high-modulus (UHM) fibers. The Series 5 is as sturdy as their four-section QP poles and lighter than their five-section QXS poles, and it stays steady at full extension, even with a heavy windshield on the end.
Locks and Handling
A quarter turn locks each section firmly and keeps the sections from twisting. Teflon, felt, and silicone lubricant let the tubes extend and collapse smoothly, and a section stays put even when its lock is loose. The long handle sleeves have a finely knurled grip. Poles shipped since May 2024 carry the improved locks first introduced on the QuickPole Slim.
Cable Options
Cabled versions have an internal coiled or straight cable, mono (XLR3) or stereo (XLR5), that exits through a side outlet in the end piece; the QP 5150 takes a straight cable only. A cable can be replaced or retrofitted without soldering: the tip comes off, the pre-assembled cable feeds through from the top, and it plugs into the end piece.
