The COS-11x Lavalier

Something great just got better

Sanken Microphones, manufacturer of the industry wide standard in ultra miniature lavalier microphones, now offers the COS-11x.

The COS-11x has not changed sonically. It still has the rich, transparent sound that has made it an industry leader, but it does have some very meaningful changes that will add to its already enormous value in production environments.

The new COS-11x features a new Front Mesh Screen, which is water resistant, better protecting the microphone from splash, perspiration and cosmetics. This is accomplished without affecting the excellent frequency response. This feature should increase the effectiveness of this microphone for outdoor use in adverse conditions.

To increase the versatility of the mic, Sanken is now offering 4 colors. The COS-llx will be available in black, gray, beige and white. The white COS-11x is available now. All other colors will be available by the end of the year.

Strain relief at the capsule has been improved to assure a long durable life. This should improve the use of the mic in situations where mounting can create additional strain on the cable.

The Sanken COS-11x will still be available either hardwired to a power supply or pigtailed for your choice of connector.

All in all, Sanken has taken feedback from end users to create an even more flexible microphone while maintaining all of the characteristics that have made the COS-11 the most popular lavalier for location recording.
