Remote Audio NiteLite
If you've worked in this business, you've eventually
found yourself working in the dark, feeling for knobs and straining to
see settings you need to adjust quickly. Now, take that aluminum mini-light
out of your mouth and get the Remote Audio NiteLite.
The NiteLite uses a super bright, high efficiency, white LED starting to pop up in other devices. But that's where the similarity ends... Each piece of the Remote Audio NiteLite was chosen specifically for film and television production. Several components were custom made just for the NiteLite. For instance, while most LEDs have a very narrow beam, the NiteLite lens has a 50 degree wide dispersion angle for an even glow. This means that a typical ENG sound bag can be evenly lit from about 12".
The extra thin, flexible steel shaft was designed to be as small and
light weight as possible, but strong. Make even a small twist or
bend, and it stays. It is covered with a black, non-scratching, abrasion
resistant coating. Our research suggested that 18" was the
optimum length for the NiteLite's intended use, so we had the shafts
made longer than normal at 18". (Shorter lengths are available
by special request.)
Even the lens cover is custom machined, per our design, from a solid block of tough Delrin plastic that will not scratch your equipment. This cover completely shrouds the recessed LED. This is a unique but important feature that eliminates spill-over light that would be distracting to the user. The LED bulb is expected to last a lifetime, and has a current draw of less than 30mA@ 12V DC (relatively insignificant). Its useful operating range of 9VDC to 18VDC (intensity changes slightly within this range). The NiteLite can be plugged directly into the Remote Audio BDS (Battery Distribution System) box. If ordered with the common 4-pin HRS power connector, it can plug directly into the PSC and SQN portable mixers, and onto the back power tap of many camcorders. Also available with TA-4M (miniature XLR 4-pin), XLR-4M (full-size XLR 4-pin male), and BNC connectors. Why would we put so much effort into creating the NiteLite for you? Because we know what it's like out there. |
