Ground Adapter Boom Pole Stand

The Ground Adapter boom pole stand should be considered an essential part of the sound department’s on-set equipment. Everyone in this business has witnessed a boom pole and microphone get damaged, either by falling over after being leaned against something, or by getting stepped on after being laid on the ground. Avoiding these incidents saves expensive equipment and reflects well on the sound department’s professional image.

The Ground Adapter assists the sound department in a number of ways. It provides a safe, convenient way to stow the boom pole between shots. A large hook takes care of the boom cable. It can be used to support an antenna mast (using the optional centering wedges). Other ways it can be used are as a chair or as a table. It is collapsible and extremely lightweight (10 pounds). Amazingly, the Ground Adapter collapses in a matter of seconds, with no tools, to 5” high package. The Ground Adapter is more stable than a similar device using a much heavier but slightly smaller base. The Ground Adapter relies on its wide round base for stability.

After a very successful run with the original Ground Adapter, Remote Audio's design team decided to make some marked improvements. Utilizing customer input, they have now come up with the next generation of a very useful tool.

The Ground Adapter boom pole stand has been improved in six ways:

The top and base are now made of a very tough synthetic composite material that is virtually indestructible, weather-proof, and safe for delicate floors such as polished hardwood or tile.

The base is secured with invisible threaded inserts, leaving no metal exposed to scratch floors.

The base diameter has been reduced to 18” so that it doesn’t rub your shins when carrying it by the seat. It is still a stable platform for most boom pole rigs, even when full extended.

The diameter of the top has been increased slightly, making it more comfortable to sit on and easier to carry.

A finger groove has been added to the underside of the seat, making it much easier to carry.

The hook has been improved to prevent unintended removal, but still allows quick release for storage.
